Frances, John, Mary, and Ann were the children of John Hren and Franciska Mustar who emigrated from Slovenia, one of the republics of the old country formerly known as Yugoslavia. At the time of John Hren and Franciska Mustar's birth, this area was probably part of the Austrian empire.

John Hren was born on June 24, 1883 in Dobrepoljah, Austria and he emigrated to the United States on April 20, 1901 landing in the port of New York. Franciska Mustar was born on May 9, 1890 in Dobrepoljah, Austria but when she emigrated to the United States is unknown. John and Franciska were married in Leadville, Colorado on February 12, 1911.

John applied for United States citizenship on July 10, 1909 and became a naturalized citizen on December 4, 1911. It is unknown when his wife Franciska became a naturalized citizen. John and Franciska had four children born as follows:

John the elder died June 20, 1918 in Leadville, Colorado during the infamous influenza epidemic. His wife Franciska died July, 31, 1974 in Pueblo, Colorado.

In 1994, one of the original nine cousins, Susan Mast, proposed the idea that we hold a reunion periodically since we were all then spread out from California to Virginia. It was decided to hold the reunions every two years rather than annually.

The original reunion was held in San Antonio, Texas in the summer of 1995. Although Susand did much of the planning and organization for this one, the reunion was hosted by her brother Joe, his wife Marion, and Joe and Susan's parents, Adolph and Ann Manuel.

The coordinators for the last reunion held in Pueblo during August 2005 were Rhonda & Steve Lewis, Shelli Tezak, and Beverly Tezak. The reunion was held between 3 - 7 August 2005 in Pueblo, Colorado
